Purpose
Steps to set up the Wi-Fi connection with the P630-A terminal. Includes preparation and testing for successful connection.
NOTE: Before starting the connection process, follow these instructions to ensure a smooth transition and avoid configuration or device issues.
Pre-requisite
- Point Of Sale (POS) 'Command Prompt' application must be installed on the Windows computer.
- OS computer must be connected to the Wi-Fi network.
Wi-Fi Connection Setup
- Click on the ‘Command Prompt’ icon on the Windows computer.
- Type: ipconfig
- Copy the IP address of the network the system is connecting to.
On the P630-A terminal:
- Go to 'Settings'.
- Select 'Network and Internet'.
- Connect to the Wi-Fi network – please ensure it is the same network the POS application is connecting to.
- Once the network is connected, go to the launcher, and locate the POS application.
NOTE: This example is using Linkly.
- Click on the 'Function' button.
- Enter the function code: 11112227.
- On the 'Comms Configuration' screen, click 'Change IP Address'.
- Enter the IP address copied in Step 2.
- Save the settings.
- Open the POS app on the computer.
- Click 'Connect' under 'Settings'.
NOTE: If it is currently connected, disconnect, then re-connect.
- Once the computer is connected, go to the Logon tab on the POS app.
- Click the 'Logon' button.
NOTE: Terminal will also display a 'POS Connected' message.
- Once the POS is connected, initiate a transaction to test if the terminal is receiving a request.
