Buyer information privacy controls
To align with global data security best practices, we are introducing enhanced privacy controls to protect customer data on the Connect Portal.
Personally Identifiable Information (PII) on the Buyer and Transaction screens will soon be masked by default as shown in below screen captures. Action is required by your Technical Administrators to restore visibility for team members who strictly require this data for their daily operations.
What is changing?
- Affected Areas:
- Buyer Search Screen
- Buyer Details Screen
- Payments Search Screen
- Payments Detail Screen
- Default State: Sensitive buyer information (such as buyer name, email, phone number, address) will be masked by default for all users. Consequently, sorting and searching features on these masked fields will be disabled.
- New Organisation Unit: A new Organisation Unit (OU) called
Personal Information Accesshas been created specifically to manage permissions for viewing PII. - Unmasking Data: PII will only be visible (unmasked) to Administrators and users who have been explicitly granted the new
Personal Information AccessOU.
What is the impact?
Users will automatically lose visibility of raw PII on Buyer and Transaction screens unless they are assigned the new OU. To ensure your business operations continue smoothly, please note the following details and required actions:
- Review Portal Users: We suggest that you review your current portal users to identify who strictly requires access to PII to perform their daily duties.
- Organisation Unit (OU) Assignment: Users with the Technical Administrator role will need to assign these designated users to the newly created
Personal Information AccessOU. Users who do not require access to this information for their routine tasks should not be assigned this role and will continue to see masked data. - Full string search: Buyer Name filter on the Payment and Buyer search pages, as well as the Email address, Billing first name, and Billing last name filters on the Buyer search page, will support exact string, case-insensitive searches. Partial or substring searches are no longer supported for these fields.
