Purpose
To provide users with a step-by-step guide to swap a Device ID (DID) on PaySuite terminals that are broken or faulty. Includes mandatory actions before and during the process of swapping terminals to ensure successful configuration updates and synchronisation with PaySuite.
Steps to swap terminals
- Locate the terminal.
For more information on how to locate a specific terminal, go to ‘How to search for a Device‘.
- Once the device appears in the search result.
- Click the device record to open open the ‘Terminal Details Dashboard’.
- Click ‘Settings’ in the navigation panel.
- Navigate to ‘Terminal Control’.
- Scroll to the bottom-left corner of the settings panel.
- Toggle on ‘Terminal Replacement’ as high (highlighted below).
- It will prompt for confirmation, click ‘OK’.
- Device record is updated successfully (notice if the Toggle button for terminal replacement is enabled. The toggle should now be green.
Once enabled and terminal is ready to be swapped, initialise the terminal.

- Click 'Replacement' and follow the prompt instructions to complete the TID initialisation on the new terminal.
If you need to forbid the action above, click on the 'Terminal Replacement' toggle button again, to forbid the action and disable the toggle button.
Once the “Terminal Replacement” is ON in PaySuite, TID can be swapped to the desired device by entering the terminal identification number (TID) on the new device.
