Purpose
To have a standard process when initialising a PaySuite terminal using the Terminal Identification number (TID).
Prerequisite
The Terminal Identification number (TID) can be found on a payment terminal on a sticker on the back/ bottom, printed on receipts (often near the top or bottom) within the terminal’s settings menu (under ‘System’>‘About’> ‘Info’). It is usually accessed via a menu button and may require a password. It is crucial for support and tracking.
It must be stored in the Customer Reseller page in PaySuite, to ensure all apps and packages are pushed to the correct terminals successfully.
Steps
- Turn on the terminal.
- Connect device to Wi-Fi.
- Click on the ‘MAXSTORE’ app to open it on the device.
- As the ‘MAXSTORE’ program is loading, click the ‘circle’ in the top right corner, (see below) to open 'Terminal Management'.
- Once 'Terminal Management' opens, click on 'Initialization'
- Select ‘Please input TID’ (see below).
- Enter the TID.
- Click 'NEXT'.
- Follow the on-screen prompts.
- After initialization, all push tasks will be downloaded to the terminal and the terminal will be activated on the PaySuite HUB.
NOTE: Before initialization, TID is not paired with any SN (Serial Number) and its status remains 'Inactive', as highlighted here:
Once initialization is completed successfully, the Serial Number will be paired against the TID. The TID will now be displayed and the updated status will be either 'ONLINE' or 'OFFLINE', as shown here:
Once the terminal is initialised, it is ready to process transactions.
- If it is in standalone mode, select 'Payment'
- Choose the 'Transaction Type'.
NOTE: If it is integrated, ensure the Point of Sale (POS) terminal has been installed according to the POS connectivity guide.
