Push or re-push apps onto PaySuite terminals

Purpose

To have a standard process for users to push (download) or re-push apps onto terminals efficiently and effectively.  This process is used: 

  • when a terminal is first set up.
  • when new apps or upgrades to apps are available.
  • when a 'failed download' error message is displayed the apps must be re-pushed.

Steps

To push/ download apps for the first time:

  1. Locate a specific, or a number of, PaySuite terminal(s), go to: 'How to search for a Device'.
  2. Once the terminal appears in the search result, click on the device record to open the terminal's details Dashboard.

3. Click on 'Push Task' tab in the top navigation banner as shown below.  

4, Click the green '+PUSH APP' button in the top right corner (highlighted below) to open the 'Add Push App' window.

NOTE:  One or more apps can be selected at the same time to download/ push onto a terminal.

5. On the 'Add Push App' window, select the app(s) to be pushed by clicking the tick box in front of the name of the app. 

NOTE: There may be more than one page of apps.  (Once one app is selected, the 'OK' button will turn green.)  There is no limit to the number of apps that can be downloaded at one time.

6. Check the version number.  It must be the same as the one currently installed or the version the device is being upgraded to ). 

NOTE: To check the version number of an app currently installed, go to: Linkly Pay App Software and Templates . 

7.  After all apps to be pushed, are selected, click 'OK'

8. Once the selection is complete, the 'Push Task added successfully' check box will be green to indicate the selected apps are now in the queue to be downloaded.

9. There are three toggle buttons to use to choose when/ how the selected apps are to be pushed onto the terminal:

  • 'Wi-Fi Only'
  • 'Force Update'
  • 'Push Immediately'

10. Once the selection is made, click 'Activate'

10. Check the instructions to ensure they are correct.

11. Once correct, click 'OK'.‌‌

12. Click the refresh icon (highlighted in image below) to monitor progress on tasks.

‌13. Once the task is successfully pushed onto the terminal, monitor this page for progress.

14. Once the download is complete, the last tick will be green and the status will show 'Completed' in green

Re-push apps onto terminals

If a PaySuite terminal is showing an error or message: ‘Failed download’ status, it may indicate the apps were not downloaded completely or properly.  In this case, they must be re-pushed/ downloaded.  Follow the steps to push apps.
