Purpose
To know how to lock specific PaySuite terminals when needed, such as if a terminal has been lost or stolen, when it is being stored or moved to a new location and locking it at the end of trade or multiple day closures or other business reasons.
To lock a PaySuite terminal:
- Locate the specific terminal to lock by following the instructions in 'How to search for a Device'.
- Locate the device in the list of search result.
- Open the 'Device Record'
- Click on the specific 'Device Record' to lock. This opens the 'Terminal Details Dashboard'.
- Click 'Settings' tab.
- Click on 'LOCK TERMINAL' (orange button in the screenshot below).

Click 'LOCK TERMINAL' button to confirm the terminal before locking it.
To confirm the terminal:
- Check that the terminal serial number (SN) matches the one to be locked.
- Open the virtual MFA app.
- Enter the verification code and click ‘OK’ to lock the terminal.

6. Confirm the terminal is locked by checking that the ‘LOCKING’ button is now inactive and gray, as highlighted below.

Once the terminal is locked the 'LOCKING' button changes to read 'UNLOCK TERMINAL'
The terminal that was locked will now display, 'The current terminal has been locked, please authorise the unlock':
